Life as an adult wasn’t this hard compared to 8 years ago. People could live on the salaries they were paid and strive a little outside their jobs to make side income. Food prices were very low and cost of living was at the barest minimum. A friend told me he chose to live in Benin City because the rent was lower and food was cheap.
I can attest to this because As student back then it won’t cost you much to orchestrate a pot of soup and stew with rice to make it melodious. We were living like humans till we decided to listen to those who wanted us to be more like demigods or fairytale creatures. We were sold the gospel of lies and deceit many warned but we are religious folks who believe in miracles and conjured stories. We fell for it and know how it feels to check old receipts and see how bad things are now.
As an adult whether you’re a businessman or an employee you need to find other streams of income to survive right now. There a lot of people struggling to meet up and take care of their families. We often believe our problems are spiritual but it’s obvious the things turned worst since the inception of this government. We didn’t really think we needed to do more or save frugally. You wake you each day to hear new prices of items like the only way of the sellers to show appreciation for seeing another day is to increase prices.
It’s not easy for the average man in Nigeria. Many have fallen for Ponzi scams in search of passive income. Clergymen are cashing out as they compel their congregation to think this is the handiwork of the devil. We need to be calmer when addressing the next man because. A lot of us are going through a lot and we barely express it. You may feel your friend or relative doesn’t want to help. Don’t forget he or she is human too and hurdled with responsibilities too.
To avoid another situation like this is to find multiple streams of income. I’ll advise most of them should be passive income. Do away with the extravagant lifestyle and buy what you need not what you want. Needs are essential while wants become wastages when you realize you never needed them.
Be interested in the political process because if you leave the government to the least the only thing they can do is plunge it into a state where everyone will suffer. Most people believed politics is a dirty game or for interests that’s a big lie. Politics is very essential to the growth of a nation of the citizens aren’t bothered about the personalities steering the affairs of their country they may end up giving a cobbler a surgeon’s job. Mistakes have been made and we can always make amends. This time we have to set it right and remove the fangs of the vampires from the treasury.
